Alan Macpherson leads the firm's investment activities. Before joining Howat Capital Partners, Alan was Head of Capital Projects at Lloyds Banking Group where he was responsible for the investment strategy for a £10bn portfolio of fixed income assets held by the group's life and general insurance businesses, including Scottish Widows. Alan also worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC) and Swiss Re.

Alan qualified as an actuary with the actuarial consultancy Tillinghast-Towers Perrin in London and has an MA in Mathematical Sciences from Oxford University.
